# Give Cursor Agent a browser on a Mac

Serein is a free macOS browser that runs the agent command-line tools on a Mac in visible browser tabs. It finds the Cursor Agent command-line tool and lists it with your other agents. Serein offers Cursor Agent for a task only when it can enforce that task's limits on it. When it cannot, Cursor Agent stays in the list, and Settings → Agents shows the reason.

## What you need

- A Mac with macOS 14 or later.
- The Cursor Agent command-line tool. Serein's setup can run the tool's own install and sign-in commands for you, in a terminal inside Serein.
- No API key. Serein uses the sign-in of the tool and never asks for your password.

## Steps

1. Download Serein from https://serein.pro/#download, open the disk image and move Serein to the Applications folder.
2. Open Serein. The setup lists each agent tool that it finds. Cursor Agent shows one action: Install, Sign in, Update or Ready.
3. Open Settings → Agents and look at the Cursor Agent row. If Serein cannot offer it for tasks, the row gives the reason.
4. If it is offered, press `⌘E`, write the task and choose Cursor Agent in the model picker. The task opens visible agent tabs with their own cookies.
5. Give more access only when the task needs it: clicks and typing, your sign-ins for this task, or edits in a project. All of these are off at the start.

## The rule that decides

Serein offers an agent tool for a task only when it can do all of these for that tool:

- give it the browser only through tools that belong to the task;
- keep the tool's own MCP servers, plugins and hooks out;
- turn off the tool's own web tools;
- enforce the file and shell limits of the task.

The same rule applies to every agent tool that Serein finds.

## If Cursor Agent is not offered

Use Claude Code or Codex in Serein for the task. They are the two agents that also resume their native session for a follow-up. See https://serein.pro/llms/claude-code.md and https://serein.pro/llms/codex.md.
